The opinion of Aventure Nordique
The Lyra 2 Extreme from Exped is a 2 person dome tent. It can be used for 3 season bivouacs and its weight/ability ratio makes it a great ally for touring on foot or by bike.
Easy and quick to set up thanks to the integral pole segments and the inner tent clips. The 9mm DAC poles ensure robustness. The tent has 2 entrances and 2 apses, so you have plenty of room to store your gear and can stand up without having to step over the second person in the tent. The symmetrical construction means that there is as much space in the two apses (60cm) as there is in the foot and head areas (130cm). Enough to fit two large mattresses. The ceiling height of 120 cm allows two people to sit together.
The inner tent is self-supporting, which makes it easy to choose a bivouac and is very practical on hard floors. The upper two thirds of the fabric are made of mosquito netting, which promises a good night's sleep under the stars and away from biting insects! The lower part of the fabric is made of a light, opaque fabric that protects you from curious onlookers and certainly from the wind. A "false ceiling" in mesh will allow you to store or dry light equipment.
The outer fabric is made of siliconised nylon on both sides and is tear-resistant and UV-resistant. It can be partially folded in on itself at the top of the tent if you want to enjoy the stars while being protected from the prevailing wind.
In addition to the mesh fabric of the inner tent, the tent has several air vents to modulate the ventilation and reduce condensation to a minimum.
