The Expedition 1000 sleeping bag from Rab has an excellent quality goose down duvet. It contains 1 kg of RDS certified hydrophobic European goose down of 850 cuin. The brand does not give a comfort temperature for its sleeping bags in very cold temperatures, but from our experience this is around -16/-18°C. Its slightly oversized cut compared to other models of the brand, allows the sleeping bag to be used with bulky expedition clothes.
The trapezoid-shaped dividers keep wastage to a minimum. Its horizontal compartments prevent down from sliding, and the vertical ones at the torso level ensure a better thermal distribution.
The fabric of the Expedition 1000 is a Pertex Quantum Pro, wind and water repellent on the outside and poly-hygienic treated on the inside to ensure good odour management. It also features a water-resistant lining at the head and foot areas to prevent water penetration. A fabric that is pleasant to the touch and does not let down escape.
Inside, the Expedition 1000 has a small zippered pocket and is supplied with a storage bag and a waterproof roll-up compression bag.
