Bach Packster 33

The Packster 33 backpack from the Swiss brand Bach has the special feature of having a weatherproof lining for the entire main volume. Access to the volume is only from the top. The zipped side opening communicates with the main volume of the backpack, but not in the waterproof part. It allows you to quickly store a wet jacket after a rain shower, for example, without soaking the rest of the equipment. As the flap is removable, the backpack can be used without it in order to save weight. A second zipper, by rolling up with a zip, closes the backpack tightly.

The back is equipped with the Bach Shield carrying system. This is optimized to remain comfortable up to a load of 15 kg. It offers ventilation, carrying comfort and lightness. It consists of an aluminium rail and a back plate made of HDPE (high density polyethylene), slightly curved to ensure rigidity and ventilation, as well as a taut net and EVA foam for comfort. The straps and hips are also padded with 12 mm EVA foam.

The fabric used in the design of the Packster 33 is Cordura 500D on the parts exposed to friction. This offers a good compromise between good abrasion resistance and lightness. The less exposed parts are made of Cordura 420D CDR NH Dobby, which offers good tensile strength and light weight. This backpack is strong and very reliable.

The Packster 33 backpack volume consists of :

• An external pocket on the top of the flap, zipped closure.


• An inside pocket on the bottom of the flap, zipped closing.


• A large waterproof main volume accessible from the top, zipped roll-up closure. A zipped side opening gives access to the non waterproof main volume.


• A mesh front pocket.


• Two side mesh pockets.


• An internal compartment for the water pocket, zipped closure.
