Sol Mag Block

The SOL Mag Block is a flint with a magnesium block and a ferrocerium rod and a scraper.

To use it, scrape the magnesium block to create a pile of chips. With the same tool, strike the flint rod to create sparks of 3000°C, which will ignite the chips. Plan ahead with easily flammable organic material (lichen, bark, dry grass) to make the transition before putting in larger wood.

This technique allows you to start fires in all weather conditions, even the most extreme. Does not fear humidity.
