Self-Inflating Sleeping Pads for Hiking & Bivouac
Self-inflating sleeping pads offer a reliable balance between comfort, thermal insulation, and ease of use. They are well suited for hiking, backpacking, and bivouac where simplicity and durability matter more than ultralight performance.
Their construction combines an air chamber with open-cell foam. When the valve is opened, the foam expands and draws in air automatically. A few breaths can then be added to fine-tune firmness.
More durable than standard inflatable pads, they are less prone to punctures and provide consistent insulation, even in cooler conditions. In return, they are usually bulkier when packed.
