The opinion of Aventure Nordique
The Alfa Skarvet Advance GTX are Nordic Backcountry Skiboots, made of full grain leather. Full grain is the best quality leather that offers excellent performance in terms of waterproofing and breathability. The smooth surface of the leather is easy to maintain. As a result, if you take good care of them, your feet will be protected from moisture, snow and you will increase the life of these Backcountry boots.
The Skarvet Advance GTX features a Gore-Tex lining that is both insulating and waterproof/breathable.
To continue with the technical features, Alfa uses memory foam in the ankle area to provide optimal comfort. This foam uses body heat to wrap the material around the ankle comfortably, limiting the formation of blisters.
The footbed has a moisture-wicking insole that keeps your feet dry. It insulates against moisture and cold from the ground. In addition, the shoe has an anatomical insole.
In the front of the boot, in the toe area, the boot is reinforced to protect the leather from icy snow and sharp edges of the skis.
The construction of the boot offers a good ratio of flexibility to stiffness:
- Flexibility to maintain a natural foot roll Stiffness at the ankles.
- The construction and the heel reinforcement offer a good support of the feet and consequently allows a good directional control of the skis.

To easily measure the length of the foot, place a piece of paper against the wall. Then place the foot (barefoot or with a thin sock) on the paper with the heel against the wall. It is important to stand upright when measuring. Put a line in front of the longest toe and measure with a ruler. Measure both feet; it is not uncommon for one foot to be larger than the other. Round up to the nearest integer to find your size.
