The opinion of Aventure Nordique
The Expedition Arctic 235 Hoodie Man from Norwegian brand Devold is made of 100% merino wool with 18.7 microns on the inside and 90% 20.5 microns on the outside, weighing 235 g/m². Designed in collaboration with polar explorer Børge Ousland, it can be worn as a first or second layer for extra warmth.
The bonnet is carefully adapted to the shape of the head and can be worn as a neck warmer, hood or bonnet with breathing holes in the mouth and nose. The kangaroo pouch is placed above the waist, to be offset from the straps of a backpack or pulling harness. It provides a place to keep your hands warm, as well as a place to store batteries to keep them warm. The cuffs are equipped with thumb loops.
The wool keeps the heat close to the body and wicks away perspiration, without retaining odours in the process. The seams are flat to avoid chafing and to make the garment very comfortable to wear next to the skin. The wool has been treated with Total Easy Care (TEC) to make the garment even softer. The outer layer has an Aquaduct treatment which gives it better moisture wicking properties.
