The OAC Kar 149 is equipped with a sole using Unicoat technology. This is a solid and easy to maintain material that OAC has invented. This sole has the ability to absorb liquid wax, so it is no longer necessary to maintain the soles with a waxing iron (hot wax).
The Kar 149 has a wide and stable platform that makes it accessible to everyone. Skiing with the Kar 149 is easy! You will be able to turn in parallel or in snowplough, or in telemark for the specialists.
The KAR 149 has an integrated skin, which is flush with the sole. Thanks to the shape and quality of the skin, the glide is optimal in powdery and soft snow. The advantage of this anti-backwards system; you can alternate descents and ascents without any manipulation!
RTM (Resin Transfer Molding) is a method that allows for a light and efficient construction: the air is sucked out and replaced by resin. The Braidbox construction on the directional fibers allows the Kar to work better in deep snow and to have a better control of the skis. The elastic PU core facilitates handling in powder.
The Kar 149 is equipped with OAC EA 2.0 universal bindings that allow you to use your hiking boots. These bindings are compatible with snow boots, "soft" hiking boots with sole lengths from 24 to 38 cm. The OAC EA 2.0 bindings are articulated bindings that offer the advantage of being able to use your own boots.
