The opinion of Aventure Nordique
Fatwood Maya Stick are natural firelighters. For 3800 years, the Maya have used natural pine shavings as candles and lighters. Fatwood sticks have a high resin content. They burn easily and hotter than paper, wax and other woods. To start a fire, you only need to plane a few shavings from the tinder stick.
These firelighters are harvested from the stumps of the Pino del Ocote. The stump is cut into small pieces. These pieces are sorted by hand and then packed. The Mayan sticks are a small wood that comes from trees that are not endangered and do not come from the rainforest, they have not been cut down for this purpose.
