Gossamer Skala 38 Ultralight Backpack

The Skala 38 Ultralight Backpack by Gossamer is an ultralight, frameless backpack designed for minimalist hikers. Its total capacity consists of a 30-liter main compartment with a roll-top closure that can be secured at the top or on the sides, as well as pockets and mesh compartments that add 8 liters:

• 1 expandable mesh exterior pocket


• 2 exterior pockets with compression straps


• 1 zippered pocket


• 2 expandable mesh pockets on the shoulder straps


• Drawcords allow you to compress and secure your gear. A trekking pole loop, an ice axe loop, and a hydration bladder loop are also included.

The back panel features a mesh pocket that holds a 64-gram SitLight foam back panel. Flexible, breathable, and removable, it provides cushioning between your back and the gear inside the backpack. Easy to remove and reinsert, it can also be used as a seat cushion or pillow. Made of closed-cell foam, it does not absorb water. It can be replaced with the 48-centimeter Air Flow SitLight back pad for added comfort (sold separately).
