The Rossignol XP 105 Positrack is a wide and stable Nordic Backcountry ski designed for free skiing off-track. Its Positrack scale base offers an excellent compromise between grip and glide, providing good traction on ascents.

This backcountry ski has very interesting sidecuts for skiing off-piste in all snow conditions. The wide tip ensures buoyancy in deep snow, the camber provides good propulsion, while the full metal edges guarantee good grip on hard snow.

Technically, this ski features several technologies:

Activ'Cap: balance between torsional rigidity and flexible flex from tip to tail, for stability in all conditions.

Low-density LDC core and fiber reinforcements.

Tail protector: protection against impacts at the base of the ski.

Tip notch compatible with full R-Skin skins (not included).

Notches compatible with R-Skin half skins (not included).

Positrack base: no waxing required, offers the ideal compromise between kick and glide on all types of snow

Our advice: For better performance, we recommend pairing these skis with Xplore, BC Outside, or 75 mm bindings, depending on your preferred setup and skiing style. Although the Positrack anti-backslide system offers solid grip, adding climbing skins is advised for longer ascents. Choose full-length skins if you carry a pulk or heavy load, or half-skins if you prefer a balance between traction and glide (sold separately). Size selection: with this type of wide backcountry ski, it’s best to choose a length 5 to 10 cm shorter than your height, or at most equal to your height, to maintain good control and maneuverability off-track.
