Outdoor Research's Bug Bivy is a bivouac bag with an ultra-light mesh fabric. It is highly breathable and protects against insects. It has a waterproof 40-denier nylon floor.
It's quick to assemble and very protective. Assembly is quick and easy (1 hooded hoop), then all you have to do is slip your sleeping bag inside. The bivi can be secured to the ground using 3 sardines and/or 2 guy ropes (to a tree branch). Inside, it has a small pocket and 2 straps to hold a mattress in place.
Depending on the weather, you can use it alone to sleep under the stars, or under a tarp when it's raining.
