The Young Hero from Austrian brand Carinthia is a sleeping bag with synthetic filling. Its size can be adapted to suit the needs of children and teenagers, from around 125 to 165 centimetres. Its 155-centimeter length can be extended to 185 centimeters.
The padding is made of G-Loft polyester. This bi-component fiber naturally forms small clusters which, like down, trap air and create optimum insulation. The advantages of this synthetic fiber are many: good compressibility, thermal performance even when wet, thermoregulation and ease of care. It can be used down to 0/5°C (see footnote).
The Young Hero can also be used for nights under the stars. A layer of Thermoflect on the inside reflects heat away from the sleeper. The adjustable hood and protection along the double-slider zipper prevent cold bridges.
Supplied in a compression bag, the Young Hero weighs just 1 kilogram.

| Additional information | The European standard EN13537, which assesses the comfort temperature of a sleeping bag, does not apply to children's models. As children are more sensitive to the cold, it's normal for their sleeping bag to offer more insulation than an adult model, for the same recommended temperature of use. This takes into account the need for pajamas, and may vary according to the child's age/corpulence/sensitivity. Be vigilant and always allow for a safety margin. Carinthia does not give a temperature for its sleeping bags. In our experience, you can use up to about 0°C / 5°C. |
