The opinion of Aventure Nordique
The Alpina Alaska XP is a Nordic Backcountry Skiboot, compatible with the new Rottefella Xplore binding standard. It is a comfortable boot with a natural leather shell and reinforced with the Alpitex waterproof membrane. This membrane protects against water and wet snow intrusion. The Thinsulate liner offers good thermal performance.
Technically, this XP model has the same features as the Alpina Alaska 75mm and NNN BC, but with the new Xplore sole offering excellent foot roll and optimal ski control. These boots were designed to fit and meet the specifications of the new Rottefella Xplore bindings. Specifically, the Norwegian Rottefella asked the Slovenian Alpina to propose a new boot with the SpringPin quick release system. This is a technology of two pins located on the front of the foot that attach to the Rottefella Xplore binding. These spring pins are located on both sides of the shoe.
The SpringPin technology eliminates the risk of the snow settling in the sole. This system provides stability and mobility and allows the skier to enter and exit the binding with ease and reliability. The pivot point is moved to the back, as close to the foot as possible for better mobility and comfort, giving a natural walking feel.
The two-piece non-slip rubber sole provides good grip when needed.
