The Challenger R3 Sleeping Mat from Norwegian brand Helsport is an 800g insulated inflatable mattress for 3-season use. The 75 denier recycled polyester fabric makes it more resistant. The mattress contains a layer of aluminium foil for insulation, giving it an R-Value of 3.4.
This mattress is very comfortable thanks to its width of 55 cm, its length of 180 cm and its thickness of 7 cm. What's more, it's rectangular with slightly thicker edges to keep the sleeper in the middle of the mattress.
It is designed with cells that trap air and increase insulation. To avoid cold bridges, these cells are arranged diagonally.
Inflating is done by a single double-valve pump bag. So no moisture enters the mattress, preserving its R-Value. To optimise weight, the pump bag doubles up as a storage bag. A small pocket in the bag contains a repair kit.
There are also loops on the top and sides of the mattress for attaching a pillow and/or coupling two Helsport mattresses together.
