The PyraOmm Duo Tarp from Ukrainian brand Liteway is an ultra-light, closed tarp for 2 persons. This single-wall shelter offers total protection from the rain. For insect protection, it can be combined with the PyraOmm Duo Full Mesh or PyraOmm Duo Half Mesh mosquito net inner (sold separately).
This tarp has a large door and two ventilation windows at the top. It is perfectly ventilated and very well suited to summer use. It can be assembled quickly using a pole or a trekking pole (not supplied) set at around 130 centimetres, or 2 trekking poles. For assembly with 2 poles, you need an A-Frame connector (not supplied) to reach around 150 centimetres.
- With 2 poles 140/145 cm: requires 15 cm A-Frame Connector
- With 2 poles 130/135 cm: requires 25 cm A-Frame Connector
- With 2 poles 120/125 cm: requires 35 cm A-Frame Connector
It can also be used without a pole, using a top guy rope attached to a tree branch. A minimum of six sardines (not supplied) and guy ropes complete the assembly.
The PyraOmm Duo Tarp is made from silpoly, a 20-denier silicone-coated polyester with a waterproof rating of 2000 millimetres. It's a tough, durable fabric that won't stretch with humidity. The tip of the hiking pole's pommel is reinforced with X-Pac. The zip on the double canopy is water-repellent and has a locking clip at the bottom.
The storage bag is waterproof and can be rolled up for a very small storage volume.
