The Rondane Kids from Norwegian brand Bergans of Norway is a sleeping bag for children. It is suitable for children up to 150 cm (approx. 11-12 years). It is filled with synthetic hollow fibers and is suitable for use in summer, late spring and early autumn. The brand doesn't specify a comfort temperature, but in our experience it's around 0/5°C (see footnote).
Its mummy shape minimizes bulk and weight, but the top is wide enough to allow movement. The fitted hood is useful when the thermometer drops.
Supplied in a compression bag, the Rondane Kids can be used in bivouacs, cabins or camping.

| Additional information | The European standard EN13537, which assesses the comfort temperature of a sleeping bag, does not apply to children's models. As children are more sensitive to the cold, it's normal for their sleeping bag to offer more insulation than an adult model, for the same recommended temperature of use. This takes into account the need for pajamas, and may vary according to the child's age/corpulence/sensitivity. Be vigilant and always allow for a safety margin. Bergans of Norway does not provide a comfort temperature. In our experience, you can use up to about 0/5°C. |
