The opinion of Aventure Nordique
The Fischer Traverse 78 Crown/Skin Xtralite are lightweight skis for Nordic backcountry skis. Sidecut (78/61/69 mm) enables these backcountry skis to handle hilly terrain and large expanses of snow. These skis are ideal for Nordic raids, long traverses and Arctic and polar expeditions. Their proportions offer good performance and optimal propulsion on the flat.
The Offtrack Crown pattern provides grip in all conditions, while Easy Skin compatibility allows for additional grip to make fast work of steeper ascents. System sold separatly.

I am interested in the Fischer Traverse 78 Crown/skin Xtralite. My weight with clothing/gear will be between 84-86 kg (185-194 lbs), therefore I am having difficulty deciding between 186 vs 196 cm ski length (as I fall somewhere in the middle). Ideally I want as light and manoeuvrable a ski as possible, however concerned that the shorter 186cm ski may have a 'sluggish' glide (especially as it softens over the years). The 196 may be faster for me, but more cumbersome, and also concerned if I loose grip in the kick zone because I would be at the lighter end? Wondering if you have perspectives that may help my choice? Thank you, Dave
