The Skijoring Releaser from our Vercors neighbors Inlandsis is used in skijoring to free the dog(s) in the event of an imminent fall. Its use is compulsory in competition and recommended for leisure activities.
The stainless-steel release is attached to a harness or belt by means of a screw pin with detent. The pull allows the dog to be released easily when approaching danger, a fall or uncontrolled speed. The leash used with this release must not have a snap hook at the skier's end to avoid injuring the dog in the event of release.
