The Sierra Designs Convert 2 is a convertible tent. It comes with a removable vestibule offering 1.52m² of storage space.
In good weather in 3 season mode, the tent can be used without the vestibule to lighten up. There is no external door as a replacement, but the overhang of the rain fly with its spout and the 1200mm siliconized ripstop nylon inner door protects the interior from minor weather conditions. To ensure sufficient ventilation in the summer to avoid condensation, there is an opening with a mosquito net at the rear and the bedroom door is made of a double mosquito net/full fabric door. For hot and dry climates, it is possible to mount only the chamber.
For winter use, or in wet conditions, the addition of the vestibule gives more space for shelter, storage, cooking... This has a snow skirt and the tent structure has 4 poles for winter use. It is not an expedition tent, but it is sufficient for small winter bivouacs. The chamber is made of solid fabric to prevent cold draughts.
The Convert 2 has a generous volume with a width of 140cm at the head and 124cm at the foot, with a height of 109cm. The tunnel shape with three parallel poles ensures that the entire tent is kept high. Colour coding of the poles makes it easy to install.
