The Venus III Extreme tent from Exped has all the roominess of a tunnel tent, but is self-supporting like a dome tent. Tent for 3 people.
The Venus III Extreme has two large apses. They are very practical for storing equipment and cooking. The interior space is more than adequate as the two large doors in the inner tent allow two people to sit side by side. The two entrances provide good ventilation.
The construction of the tent makes it particularly resistant to wind and weather. The type of construction makes it particularly wind and weather resistant, so it will go with you anywhere, in any weather.
The fabric of the Extreme range is made of siliconized nylon. This ripstop nylon allows for significant weight savings and high wind resistance.
The waterproofing is excellent. The top of the range silicone fabric does not accept heat-sealed seams: this is a guarantee of longevity.
If you use the flysheet alone, you can use it as a tarp and get good protection while having an ultra-light shelter.
Notes:
- In hot, dry weather, it is possible to use only the inner tent.
- It may be necessary from time to time to re-waterproof the silicone seams, which is very easy to do.
