Exped Serac 40

Exped's Serac 40 is a lightweight, waterproof backpack designed for alpine use and a wide range of outdoor activities. It features a 38-liter volume with a wide opening. Minimalist, it is extremely well designed:

• Roll-up closure for quick access to contents.


• Waterproof side zipper for quick access to main compartment.


• Front pocket with waterproof zipper for storing gear or shovel and probe.


• Small outside pocket with waterproof zipper.


• Small inside zippered pocket.


• Compartment for hydration pouch.

Removable side compression straps for attaching skis, and attachment loops for climbing gear.

The 400D ripstop nylon fabric is tough and abrasion-resistant. It's also weatherproof to 10,000 millimeters, and the seams are heat-sealed.

Removing the various removable parts, the weight of the backpack can be reduced to 695 grams.
