Liteway Illusion Solo Tent

The Illusion Solo Tent from Ukrainian brand Liteway is an ultra-light shelter. It's somewhere between a tent and a tarp. This shelter is single-walled on 3 sides, with a mesh ventilation strip on the lower section and double-walled on the door side. It offers the minimalism of a tarp, with full mosquito net protection just like a tent.

The Illusion Solo Tent has a large outer door that forms a 60-centimetre apse, an inner mesh door and two top ventilation windows. It's perfectly ventilated and ideally suited to summer use. It's quick to assemble using a trekking pole (not supplied), set at 130/135 centimetres. A minimum of six sardines (not supplied) and guy ropes complete the assembly. Unlike other similar models, the pole passes through the inside of the chamber, allowing the mesh wall to be spread apart to create more volume inside. The shrouds at the front and rear also allow the fabric to be stretched outwards.

It's made from silpoly, a 20-denier silicone-coated polyester with a waterproof rating of 2000 millimetres. It's a strong, durable fabric that won't stretch with humidity. The tip of the hiking pole's pommel is reinforced with X-Pac. The flysheet zip is water-repellent and has a locking clip at the bottom. Mesh storage pockets are located high up.
