The Corus 20F-6C Quilt from American brand Thermarest lets you take a lighter load when trekking or traveling, especially in summer if you're in the mountains. Combined with a well-insulated mattress, the quilt keeps you warm on the upper body and sides. Underneath, on the back, it's the insulated mattress that plays its protective role. It's like half a sarcophagus-type sleeping bag lengthwise, but without the hood or ruff!

To limit cold spots:

• Around the neck, a partitioned bulge and a small snap will protect you from drafts.


• The bottom of the quilt is sewn to create a warm pocket directly around the feet or the lower part of the mattress.


• The inner partitions are made of mesh to maximize loft and minimize cold spots.
